Cutting out the Marquetry.

The maple veneer background for the marquetry was divided into eight matching quarters – four for the back of the resonator and four for the inside of the resonator. The quarters were made into a “pad” of veneers and all eight were cut at the same time. All the stems and flower parts were also cut out eight at a time. The saw is powered by an old sewing machine.
