| |
| William L. Lange was a partner in Rettberg & Lange, a major
East coast banjo producer and distributor. They purchased JH Buckbee's
banjo factory in 1897. Lange expanded the company into the William
L. Lange Company in the early 1920s, and supplied the C. Bruno
& Son distributor with both Paramount and Orpheum
banjos.The Paramounts
had a "harp tone" created by a tone ring made out of
brass and aluminum placed on 5/8" thick rims . They were very
popular and over 15,000 of Paramount banjos were made. |
