This nice Stromberg Voisinet resonator banjo has a 11" mahogany rim that is 2 1/2 deep and 3/8" thick. There is a 1/4"steel rod as a tone ring. The banjo has a single coordinator rod that attaches the neck to the rim and keeps the rim distortion free. The base of the neck has a plate which anchors to the rim also. The nickle-plated brass one-piece flange is snugly fitted to the rim. The head is held down by a plated brass tension hoop and 20 original brackets. There is a vintage brass armrest (slightly bent). The plated brass tailpiece is adjustable. The mahogany resonator conveniently attaches with two hand screws. The pot as a whole is constructed to produce the best possible sound in terms of volume and clarity.

The 19-fret ebony fingerboard is inlayed with pearl dots and has a scale length of 23 3/16". The width of the neck at the thick ebony nut is 1 1/8". The mahogany neck is nicely formed. The metal friction pegs are original and in excellent shape. The ebony veneered peghead is inlayed with a pearl star. This banjo has a good neck angle with a straight fingerboard, and no buzzes. The head and strings are new.The action of this banjo has recently been adjusted nice and low, measuring less than 1/32 at the first fret and less than 3/32" at the 19th fret.
