Ludwig Kenmore Plectrum Banjo

This vintage banjo has a 11" rim with heavy brass tone ring built into the rim. The flange is a heavy nickle-plated brass. The new plastic head is held down by a brass tension hoop and 26 original hooks. There is a vintage bar armrest. The brass tailpiece is an original Ludwig. The medium weight strings are new.

The 22-fret ebony fingerboard is inlayed with pearl designs and has a scale length of 26 3/4". The width of the neck at the bone nut is 1 1/8". The walnut neck is centered-laminated with ebony, bound with ivoroid, and fret-marked with black dots. The neck at one time had a 5th peg installed but that area has been professionally repaired and is hardly visible. The ivoroid knob friction pegs are vintage, but not original to the instrument. This banjo has a good neck angle with a straight fingerboard, good action and no buzzes. It comes in a chipboard case.
