Gretsch Broadkaster Tenor Banjo
Item B-17
This is an early 1930's tenor banjo that is visually very
pleasing. The 19-fret neck consists of nicely engraved
images in a pearloid fingerboard. The walnut neck has three
laminations down the center and and a black one under the
fingerboard. The instrument lives up to its Broadkaster
name with bright, crisp notes. It has good volume yet retains
an old- time sound quality. The scale length is 23 1/4".
The width at the nut is 1 1/8 and the fingerboard has a
comfortable smooth feel. The original grained ivoroid knobs
are in good condition and hold the strings tight. The 11" rim
is a cast aluminum with a form upper edge acting as a tone
ring. New plastic head and adjustable brass tailpiece.
The action and angle of the neck is properly set. This
banjo comes with a new Tote Bag.
